WHAT: An interactive installation that projects a speech bubble above your head as you talk.
HOW: As a participant speaks, a set of lavalier microphones send the sound into an Max/MSP program that triggers Flash program that projects a stream of text above your head.
WHY: It’s a humorous take on the signal-to-noise ratio in conversation.
The bubble swells with the text “blah bu blah blah” as you continue to talk. The output text reflects your volume by changing size. Textual attributes such as bold text and italic text also shift to reflect voice pitch. If you remain silent, you eventually get a corresponding thought bubble.
